Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

If you need help paying your heating bills, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) can help. This federally funded program provides assistance to eligible customers. LIHEAP opens November 1, 2023 and is scheduled to close on April 5, 2024.

Grant amounts vary from $300 to $1,000 and will be provided only while LIHEAP funding remains available. Apply early because funds are very limited and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. See the chart below to see if you qualify.

The size of the grant is based upon your income and household size.

Household SizeAnnual Income Limit
1$21,870
2$29,580
3$37,290
4$45,000
5$52,710

*The figures shown are provided as an income-eligibility guide for the 2023-2024 LIHEAP Program and are subject to change. Pennsylvania county assistance offices determine income-eligibility for customers applying for LIHEAP benefits.
